Development of a clearing system for tradable green certificates
( Renewable Energy Certificate System), which are similar to CO2 certificates in their nature. The system modelled the complete liefecycle of generation, transfer and cancellation of tradable green certificates. It forms the basis for green certificate trading. In addition I participated in the certification of renewable energy generation.
Furthermore I developed a system for the verification of emission reductions, which closely followed the
rules of the Kyoto protocol for certified emission reductions (CER) or emission
reduction units (ERU), respectively. In this context I audited several
reduction projects in Germany, Poland and Sweden, e.g. at
Hamburgischen Electricitätswerken (HEW)
and Vattenfall.
Development of standards within DIN - NAGUS AA 7 - the International Standardisation Organisation (ISO) - (TC 205 WG 6) - and the German Engineers Association (VDI Verein Deutscher Ingenieure) - (KRdL Kommission Reinhaltung der Luft) - on the verification of CO2 emissions. As assistant to the managing director of the German Conformity Assessment Council (DIN KonRat
Deutscher Rat für Konformitätsbewertung) I was involved in the development of
important standards on auditing, testing, inspection and certification (EN
45.000 and ISO 17.000 series). In this regard I worked closely together with the ISO Conformity Assessment Council (CASCO).
